Anchored protein C (ancC) binds the host cell membrane and gathers
the viral RNA genome to form the core of the mature viral
particles. During viral entry into the host cell, the protein may
induce genome penetration into host cytoplasm. Furthermore, ancC
can migrate to the nucleus to modulate host functions.
AncC (nucleotide position 119..481) also contains protein C
(nucleotide position 119..421), which is produced upon further
processing by the host cell and interferes with host Dicer to
prevent RNA interference.
