Nicotiana tabacum - Tobacco, TOBAC
Characteristics of the protein coding sequence
Name of the protein expressed by the coding sequence
Large subunit of the ribulose-bisphosphate carboxylase (rbcL) ribosomal binding site
Biological function
This is the ribosome binding site of the large subunit of a multimeric enzyme (RuBisCo) involved in photosynthesis. A ribosomal binding site (RBS) is a sequence on mRNA that is bound by the ribosome when initiating protein translation.
