The Tanzania BCH III First National Workshop scheduled for 10-11 March 2019. This workshop is organized by the Govrnment of the United republic of Tanzania in collaboration with the UN Environment-GEF Project for Sustainable Capacity Building for Effective Participation in the BCH and the Biotechnology Society of Tanzania.
Participants to this workshop are key stakeholders including the national competent authorities, industry, importers, producers, distributors, researchers, farmers and farming organizations, major food and feed companies, NGOs and civil society and the media.
The objectives of the workshop are, to define procedures or mechanisms for information flow onto the BCH; define roles of the competent national authority (ies) and national focal points; and, enhance the national capacity to use the BCH Central Portal to find and register information. By the end of this training, key stakeholders will be acquainted with technical national BCH responsibilities and have a clear understanding of the common formats of BCH records and their impact on the institutional processes for creating and registering BCH information.
